Another Free $73 from SurveySavvy

Lately, SurveySavvy has been sending me quite a few surveys. I just emptied out my account again, this time getting a check for $73.00.

With this check, that puts me at $669.00 since I joined last year.

For anyone that is not aware of SurveySavvy, it is a paid survey site, meaning they pay you, in cash, for completing surveys. In my experience, this is is the most legit paid survey site, and trust me, I have tried many. They all promise cash, but once you taks surveys, you never actually see the money.

SurveySavvy is defninetly apart from the rest. The cash is paid out to you when you ask for it. There is no minimum needed to withdrawl money. If you take a $1 survey, you can request a check for $1. I definetly recommend this to anyone who wants to make a little cash on the side.

$25 Free when opening an ING Direct Electric Orange Checking Account

ING is now offering a $25 sign on bonus when opening and Electric Orange Checking Account with at least $250. That is a 10% bonus for 5 minutes of your time.

Since this bonus is only offered through a referral you will need to email me for a referral link to sign up. (See "What you need to do" at the bottom of this post)

I currently have this account and use it as my primary checking account. You get free ATM usage when using any ATMS on the AllpointNetwork. Free electronic Bill Pay and Free electric checks. (Note that this account does not use paper checks. A paper check can be generated, but it needs to be done online)

They also offer pretty competitive interest rates (APY) for a chcking account:

  • $0-$49,999.99 3.25%
  • $50,000.00-$99,999.99 4.75%
  • $100,000.00 or more 4.90%

For me, the interest offered on this account is a no brainer compared to what I was getting on my Chase Checking account - 0%

There is also an ACH feature where you can transfer money between the Electric Orange Checking account and other checking accounts you may have.

What you need to do: Send me an email with your first name, last name and email address.
Obligation: None
Initial Reward (if any): $25 when opening an accont with at least $250
Money to get started: $250
Things to Note: This is a full featured checking account that does not use Paper Checks. If you still want to use paper checks, you can keep this account for the interest and bill pay and user your original account to write checks.

Make Free Money on Your Savings!!

Let's talk about Bank Accounts. Most of you have probably have a savings account that pulls in less than 1% interest. Why bother?

Nowadays there are quite a few HYS (High-Yield Savings accounts) available that pay a respectable interest rate.

My favorite is the Money Market Savings Account which offers a 4.5% APY. That is many times over what a traditional savings account pays out.

The account also comes with the following features:

  • Free ACH transfer system that allows you to connect the Money Market Savings Account to your current bank. This makes for easy online money transfers to and from the account
  • ATM card with refunds for up to four non–GMAC Bank ATM charges per month. This means you can use the ATM card at any ATM up to four times without ANY ATM fees! For travelers this is a must have!
  • Check writing priveliges

I have had this account for over 2 years now and have no complaints. The big benefit is the high interest rate and the quick access to your money via the ATM card or checks. Plus if you currently pay ATM fees when you take out money at ATMs, then this account already pays for itself with the four ATM rebates. This account is definetly worth a look to start making money off your own money!

What you need to do: Open a Money Market Savings Account
Obligation: None
Initial Reward (if any): 4.5% interest rate on any money in the account
Money to get started: $500 is the minimum balance to avoid fees
Things to Note: Since this is a savings account, only 6 withdrawls per month are allowed to avoid fees. 4 ATM rebates per month. 3 checks allowed per month

Rebate Sites

Another site I reguraly use when shopping online is Mr Rebates. This site pays you a rebate back from shopping at a particular online store.

For example, I love Old Navy T-Shirts as they seem to last forever no matter how many times you wash them. When you click on the "Old Navy" link from Mr Rabates, it takes you to the Old Navy site where you will automatically get back a 4% rebate in your Mr Rebates account on any purchases made at Old Navy. So if I were to spend $100 I would get a $4 rebate in my account.

The rebate %'s vary by store, but they seem to have most of the popular online stores in their list.

It usually takes 90 days for the rebate to be available to withdraw and it comes in the form of a check mailed to your home after you ask for a check.

What is the catch? None. Many websites give rebates back to people that direct shoppers to them. They are usually called associate programs. Mr Rebates just shares part of that rebate with you. If you do a lot of online shopping, this is something you should really take a look at.

What you need to do: Open an account with Mr Rebates
Obligation: None
Initial Reward (if any): $2.50 for opening an account
Money to get started: None - but you have to shop online to earn more rebates

Paid Survey Sites = Free Money

Another place where I spend some of my free time is doing paid surveys. Over time these tend to add up.

My two favorite sites are:

  • MySurvey.com - MySurvey pays you in points that can be used for merchandise or to redeem for cash. I have just signed up with this site, but already have 980 points.

  • SurveySavvy.com - These guys pay you cash per survey as well as cash for referral's surveys. I have been a member with them for 3 years and have made quite a bit of cash. Here is my earnings chart so far:

Not a bad amount for just answering questions! If only the SAT's counted!!!

I realize that the income from this isn't going to fund my kid's college education, but every little bit helps!

What you need to do: Sign up and wait for surveys
Obligation: None
Money to get started: None
